How to Dress For YOUR Body Type
We’ve all had those moments where we see some thing cute hanging on a hanger in a department store, or a trendy gal out to brunch, and we think “I can totally wear that!” Then we get into the dressing room and boom! not at all what you were expecting. That oh so cute romper makes you look like a sack of potatoes. Fear not my beauties! I am here to tell you that you can wear these super cute trends but first, you must know how to dress for your body type.
Well what is my body type you say? There are 4 body types; hour glass, apple, pear, and rectangle. Now, not EVERYONE fits perfectly into these categories, but the importance is just getting that basics down and tweaking it from there. I’ve listed some general descriptions of how to determine your body AND what you should embrace and avoid.
HOURGLASS: proportionate shoulders & hips, defined narrow waist. What looks best on you; wrap dresses and boot cut jeans. Avoid high necklines and empire waistlines.
APPLE: broad shoulders, less defined waist, good legs. What looks best on you; V necklines, wrap dresses. Avoid anything high waisted, tiered or ruffled skirts.
PEAR: lower body wider than upper body. What looks best on you; cowl neckline and high waists. Avoid baggy tops and low slung belts.
RECTANGLE: aligned shoulder to hip ratio, not many curves. What looks best on you; skinny jeans, scoop necklines, and collars with ruffles. Avoid crop tops and drop waists.
I hope I was able to shed a little light on the subject. If you’d like more info on a your specific body type, subscribe to my email list and I’ll send you a complimentary PDF. I’ll also answer any question left in the comments. Thanks babes!
